Welcome to the 2016 – 2017 school year!
Whether you are a returning family or new to Covington County, we warmly welcome you to this school district.
I am so excited to begin this school year with you. I am eager to join in with you as we create experiences that will foster long lasting relationships.
My motto is simple: “Every Student Matters and Every Moment Counts”. I truly believe that for us to make the gains that we need we must make every child feel that they are important. To do this we need to use every second, every minute, and every moment. I believe that this is what will set us apart and it is our hope that the power of these words will inspire the greatness in us to do our very best.
We also realize that in order for our students to be successful they need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our student’s success and we offer our support to you to be the driving force behind your child’s success. We want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities and we look forward to you supporting us in our efforts as well.
Our schools are continuously being put under a microscope and rated by standards. We realize that this is important and we want to do our very best on these standards, but we realize that test scores do not measure all of the good things going on in our schools. We are proud of the efforts of our students and staff and we know there is still work to do in improving learning for all students. That being said, we want our focus to be on learning. With improved learning we feel that we will get improved test scores.
As you prepare for the start of the school year, we hope you can feel the excitement in the air. When your children enter our doors, be assured that they will be known by their names and needs, because “Every Student Matters and Every Moment Counts.”
